To my mom

It’s nice to know that someones there.
When I need to chat with someone who cares
It’s nice to see your happy smile
And know that you’ll go that extra mile
I wish I had your confidence
In knowing things will be alright
I wish I could help her out some more
Such a scary thing to have to fight
Not knowing is the hardest part
Your fate is wearing on my heart
I cannot tell you all my fears
Or the amount of unshed tears
It’s not fair to you to share my load
Through all of this your hand I’ll hold
I have faith in all things great
And I know we can do no more than wait
But sometimes I feel so sad
Reminds me an awful lot of dad
But no matter what, one thing holds true
